On March 16 and 17, the LMI team was in Las Vegas at the Digital Signage Expo (DSE), which was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The LMI booth, #1742, was positioned near the Food Court area of the Exhibition Hall, and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. Traffic was good, as both end-users and providers stopped by to explore our service offerings.
Once booth visitors read about the breadth of capabilities LMI offers, they were intrigued and stayed on to chat. We also spoke with numerous exhibitors who were struggling with business, because they don’t have a broad enough national presence to support technicians completing multi-site location projects simultaneously. That’s one of LMI’s specialties, so the conversations were productive for both of us.
Like most exhibitors at DSE, we were exploring new business opportunities, but we were also looking for breaking developments and innovative products that we can introduce to our customers. One that caught the eye of our President of Technology Services, Scott Goodwin, was the quality of tiled video displays.
On large video displays, anyone looking closely has almost always been able to see the borders of and joints between each tile. Scott reported back from DSE that the technology has improved so much that several very large (150” or more) video walls using 18” tiles looked seamless. Each presented as one solid panel and an ultra-high definition display with 4K clarity. That’s something our customers would love to see in their reception or conference rooms!
